SCOTTSDALE, AZ, November 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – AMMO, Inc. (OTC:POWW), an innovator in ammunition technology, announced that it has successfully completed the first round of long range testing utilizing the technology acquired in the Company’s recent purchase of Southwest Kenetics Inc. (SWK).
During the month of October, immediately following the completion of the merger between AMMO, Inc. and SWK, a project team was assembled to manufacture and validate the performance capability of the new projectile design. Nearly 4,000 rounds were assembled and tested by the team using a variety of rifle platforms currently in use by the United States Military. Among the rounds developed were 7.62, and 50 caliber cartridges. The Company also successfully manufactured and tested a new .338 configuration currently being developed for Military validation in late 2019, and 2020.
Kathy Hanrahan, the President for the Company’s Defense Division commented, “The acquisition of SWK was a critical first step in building a strong portfolio of match grade ammunition for our Nation’s warfighters. The second was combining this team with two of our strategic partners to build and test the rounds for actual field deployment. To assist, we utilized two military trained snipers to conduct the range testing: a former United States Marine Force Reconnaissance Sniper, and a former Special Operations weapons expert. We sought their unfiltered feedback on loading and firing the rounds, as well as in determining how best to present the capability to the Department of Defense. Targets were placed at distances that ranged from 300 to 1,200 yards, and all shots fired were fully documented with environmental factors and ballistic data to include: load measurements, muzzle velocity and trajectory. The testing was conducted over several days, and upon completion, provided documentation confirming our new line of ammunition exceeds current military performance requirements, as well as leading competitor results.”
Ms. Hanrahan continued, “The performance we witnessed in the field further exemplifies our mission to truly innovate the industry by developing and delivering a quality line of reliable ammunition for the United States Warfighters. These rounds surpassed current performance and quality standards for the calibers fired, and resulted in groupings that left our shooters in awe. In closing the final day of testing, the Special Operations weapons expert commented, ‘they had just witnessed history in the making’. Additionally, they noted in their weekly debrief that they believed AMMO, Inc.’s innovative ammunition will save lives and increase force capability for our Nation’s Military.”
The Company intends to continue its testing and marketing of the new rounds to strategic buyers throughout the remainder of 2018, and anticipates releasing the product line for sale in early 2019.
